Are we in for a hard winter?

Are we in for a hard winter?
by Ron Jeffries from Ilford GB on 05 Dec 2011

Are we in for a hard winter? At this time last year we were a few inches deep in snow, but this year as Christmas approaches we have winter sunshine to enjoy. But the holly bushes in Aldborough Hatch are bursting with brilliant red berries - often a sign that we are in for a hard winter with the berries being much needed food for the birds who stay behind in the UK.
Roger Goffee and Roger Kirby were amongst a group who trimmed the trees in St. Peter's Churchyard on Saturday 3rd December as winter starts to bite.
