There was plenty of Olympic spirit at a party at the Rokeby Hub Community Links Centre.
One hundred people including Newham Mayor Sir Robin Wales celebrated the start of the London 2012 Games at the event in Rokeby Street, Stratford on Saturday July 28.
Loreen Phillip, the manager at the Rokeby Hub said: "It was a great occasion to mark the start of the Games.
"A lot of people in the area, didn't get tickets for the Olympics so the party made them feel part of such a big event."
Highlights included sports, face painting, BBQ and a special Olympic cake made by Adam The Pastry Guy.
The event was organised by Loreen, Jackie Mattock and the special Olympic Committee consisting of Stratford residents.
Resident Franklin Adesuyan said: "I had lots of fun.
"It was good to see so many people."
