In the early hours of the morning residents in a quiet cul-de-sac in Hackney were awoken by the sound of a vehicle horn blaring loudly,

On investigation it was discovered that two vehicles were ablaze in the street, following some explosions the vehicles were engulfed in flames and even set fire to a telephone pole which burned up it's full height resulting in the phone lines being down for almost a week,

Tthe heat was so intense that vehicles on the opposite side of the road were also damaged, residents evacuated their houses while the fire brigade fought to bring the blaze under control, but thankfully all were allowed to return home after fires were quelled



police are investigating
